My vision of the Wellness Consultant

There are various areas that are analyzed by the Wellness Consultant, the food area,

more immediate and simple to manage, the physical one dedicated to the well-being of the body e

the cognitive one concerning the well-being of the mind; but, in my view, they are, if not

more important, at least equally important to the previous ones, the sexual, relational area

and the philosophical-spiritual one.

I found the discourse that centers around the latter two very interesting

as I have personally experienced difficult moments that have affected them.

The relationship with others, understood as "philos" in particular, I think can best express that form of empathy that allows us to look at who is in front of us with the eyes of the Consultant who wants to weave a real helping relationship aimed at improving sincerely the quality of life of the customer.

In fact, many times it can happen to feel the need to have someone around who understands our thoughts and feelings without feeling it as a forcing but, rather, as a real interest in us.

The relationship that is established in this way is strong and binds the Client to the Consultant, thus helping him to open up and express himself with sincerity and spontaneity.

In this way the Consultant can listen and understand what need the Customer expresses, without blocks and filters.

Various problems can thus come to the surface, from those related to the food sphere, where the Customer can typically complain about his weight, to the emotional one perhaps due to a detachment as important as a difficult relationship with others.

Often all these elements, from the dietary component linked to weight passing to the desire for well-being of the body to finish to that of satisfying one's spiritual need have one element in common which is that of the fear of not being accepted by others.

A fear that we all often experience in various circumstances and to a more or less accentuated extent. This fear can lead to not feeling accepted at work or within a group of friends. Often this fear of disliking becomes so strong that one feels that feeling of disliking oneself and even refusing oneself, isolating oneself.

I think that the Wellness Consultant can do a lot to help those who are thus losing their self-esteem.

We human beings were not in fact created to survive by limiting ourselves to carrying out those basic functions that allow us not to become extinct. Using words reported during a lesson that struck me despite their simplicity, we are not "trout" that are born, grow (struggling not to be eaten when small), reproduce and die.

We are thinking beings, endowed with intelligence, capacity for discernment and free will. These faculties differentiate us from other animals, especially from "trout". They make us grow and acquire skills and knowledge that range from the most disparate fields of knowledge.

They allow us to be people capable of reasoning and being responsible for our actions, they make us feel emotions in certain circumstances, they make us feel joy and pain, serenity and anger. We are aware of ourselves and of the world around us, of what is beautiful, but also of bad things. We are also aware of our limitations and imperfections.

When we realize that we are imperfect people and we see something in us that we do not like, we try to understand how to fix it in order to like us and like us again. We are afraid of being alone, socially excluded.

The Wellness Consultant can help those who have this fear and carry out a form of psychotherapy without obviously wanting to be a psychologist, he can help, for example, those who are overweight to find a way to enjoy themselves by restoring a correct diet associated with the necessary physical activity trying to stimulate the client to acquire that mental attitude which is the basis for success.

In fact, fears can be reduced and even eliminated by working around the problems that cause them. The Consultant should not stop at the sole "prescription" of more or less advertised herbal preparations or more or less esoteric pseudo-therapies that characterize the work of most traditional Naturopaths often referable to the category of charlatans.

The Wellness Consultant or Consultant in Naturopathy, in my opinion, must go far beyond the simple "prescription" of herbs, flowers, magical rituals and so on   concentrating on the search for the well-being of him or her standing in front and asking for help.

It is not a question of having to help the person recover from an illness, for this there are doctors, but of helping the person (the Client) to regain well-being by going well beyond that state of homeostasis to which the doctor reports.

Then the Consultant can encourage the Client to move, look for new stimuli, new knowledge, for example by going for walks in the midst of nature where not only he has the opportunity to oxygenate his lungs and brain with undoubted benefits for his neurons, but also to admire the countless beauties of nature, from the tree varieties, to the fauna, from the small flowers that grow on the meadows to the majesty of the centuries-old plants, from the tiny insects that aerate the ground to the colors of butterflies and so on. Not to mention the views that can be enjoyed in the mountains such as the colorful sunsets.

Often the human being goes in search of complicated things forgetting that often in the simplest things or within everyone's reach we can find pleasure.

It is not always necessary to go to the gym or solarium or spa to feel gratified or get better.

Instead of going to the gym and going out of the closed place of your home to close yourself in another closed place to sweat and toil, why not go for a walk in the middle of nature?

Instead of going to be radiated by harmful rays to appear tanned and thus think of being considered more beautiful by others, why not go and sunbathe lying on the sand (for those who are close to the sea or can afford to go there) or lying on a lawn maybe together with the person you love?

Instead of going to the gym running on a rubber mat nailed to the ground with a headphone playing loud music that cuts out external noises, why not take a jog near the lake or the sea listening to the sounds of nature?

These are just simple suggestions that, however, can give the person who asks them the confidence in their ability to leave everyday problems aside, regain that self-esteem that they have lost, only by seeing that the results they have show that they can do it. , alone.

It is not necessary to upset your life, you do not need a crash diet that empties calories and fat and fills you with stress and anguish, you do not need to immediately run 30 km or 5 hours a day. Graduality is the right thing to do, according to one's abilities, stimulating the desire to change and gratifying the results obtained day after day, step by step, however small they may be.

These are my ideas, this is what I think it would be right to do to help those who, with the effort of those who have to question themselves, come to us, Wellness Consultants to receive help, that sincere help motivated by a real empathy towards our neighbor.
